“Flying High” by AirAsia CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes

Many might already recognise AirAsia as a household airline brand, but do you know the story behind the AirAsia Group CEO? Tan Sri Tony Fernandes acquired the failing airline and has transformed it into Asia’s largest budget carrier.

Today, he launched a new book, “Flying High” – a story about the power of dreams. Having read a few pages while waiting to have a short interview with the man himself, it’s a book directed to encourage readers to pursue their dreams and passion.

Penguin has requested him to get the book up 3-4 years ago, he finally got down to it and have spent the past 6 months getting the book up – all in his own words. He have also shared that there is no special significance or reason he decide to launch it this year.

He strives to encourage people that dreams are possible to achieve, sharing that while he has many failures, he doesn’t regret any of it. He also briefly mentioned that many asians are worried about failure and he hopes people will be able to believe that they can do anything in their lives.

AirAsia – named so in hope to establish understanding that there is no discrimination over the different countries but represents all of Asia.

Life is about making mistakes, if you don’t make mistakes you will never learn  – AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes
