Sufood – Raffles City

Sufood is Taiwan’s number one vegetarian restaurant chain! With their innovative approach to healthy dining and stylish dish presentations, it is no wonder. This March, an impressive new 8-course Vegelicious Feast Set has been released, so keep your eyes (and mouth) peeled!

 

To kick-start the meal, home-made rosemary-infused breadsticks was served. It was so, so addictive especially with the sweet mustard dip that came along! The refreshing mulberry juice vinegar was a enjoyable palate cleanser, bringing out the exquisite taste in every dish that came along thereafter.

 

The Star Pizza was no doubt one of the most visually intriguing dish for the day. Filled with generous amounts of oyster mushroom and topped with salted seaweed, this golden star-shaped pizza was something special. Oh and did i mention the crust was stuffed with savory cream cheese? An unexpected yet pleasant surprise nonetheless!

 

Wild Mushroom Charcoal Tagliatelle was yet another visually stunning dish. Throw in some King Oyster mushrooms sautéed in light olive oil and homemade dressing, sitting atop a bed of fragrant charcoal tagliatelle, every mouth was a curious delight!  And fret not, this dish won’t embarrass you with your blackened mouth interiors like those squid ink pasta out there.

The Baked Potato Al Funghi left all of us in awe – with a honest layout, the emphasis was placed on the freshness and quality ingredients used. The gigantic steamed King Oyster mushrooms drizzled with Italian herb vinaigrette was definitely the highlight. Standing tall and proud, it almost felt like they were freshly plucked from your backyard. To round things off, a slice of baked potato, topped with stir-fried Button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes to go with. My life is complete, for real.

Grain rice with Mushroom and Truffles was hands down my personal favorite! Well, i’m a truffle fan you see, can’t blame me for being biased here teehee. Using 5 Grain rice doused with truffle oil and served with fresh mushrooms, and the best part was actuallythe huge dollop of black truffle sitting in the center! The unique aroma of black truffle alone brings one to culinary paradise- my goodness.

Editor’s note:

Prior to this tasting, AAJ personally didn’t think going vegetarian could be possible. Well, the only edible dish to go by will be the classic vegetarian bee hoon (zhai mi fen), and how can you actually eat that for! AAJ realized he could’t be more wrong after this tasting.

Vegetarian food and eating clean/healthy seems so very plausible with Sufood around 🙂
