8-course Mothers’ Day menu with Cordyceps-infused dishes

Mother’s Day is slowly approaching and we often ponder where to take our Moms for a meal.

Especially if you live in the East, you can consider treating your mom to an 8-course dinner with Cordyceps infused dishes. As you know, cordydeps help boost immune system and energy levels, prevents respiratory distress and weakness, helps rejuvenate skin, gives relief from asthma, among other benefits.

It’s really a treat to have, rather well-balanced, most dishes were really good and i heard that their regular ala carte dishes are also not too bad, such as their Hor Fun, i might just try this the next time i’m back in the area.

Mother’s Day Four Heavenly Treasures, comprising of Cordyceps Wanton with Crabmeat, Signature Salted egg fish skin, Thai style Jelly Fish and Fragrant Wine Pork Belly. The wanton doesn’t have an overpowering taste of cordyceps, it was a rather nicely flavoured dish.

Double Boiled Kampung Chicken Cordyceps Soup with Dried Scallops, the soup is super comforting and perfect for when it’s cold / raining. I would say that this is my 2nd favourite dish of the meal, chicken pieces are absolutely tender and falls off the bones easily.

Crisp Prawn and Purple Sweet Potato Shoestring Fries with Lychee & Apple Mayo. One unique thing about this is that they use purple sweet potato which is crispy and slightly sweet. It serves also, as a nice touch to the dish, visually.

Steamed Garoupa Slices in Cordyceps Stock, they used a local breed of fish, same for this dish, the chef does it in a way so that the cordyceps will not overpower the original taste of the dish.

Braised Cordyceps Pork Ribs with Black Garlic in Lotus Leaf. This ones comes with mushrooms too and i love mushrooms!!

Braised Ten Headed Abalone with Signature Tofu and Spinach in Cordyceps Sauce. I really love beancurd so this dish is made for me! The spinach is super flavourful and soft, a lot of flavour is in the sauce, slurps!

Longevity Ee-fu noodles with Enoki Mushrooms and Seasonal Greens. I like that they take pride in their dishes, plating and presentation.

Nourishing Double-Boiled Peach Resin with Red Dates, using peach gum, it’s very refreshing and nutritious for the body!

4 full paying adults at $49.80 each, mothers only need to pay $8, really worth it if you do the math. This set menu is available for the first two weeks of May (5,6 and 12,13 May).

Also, if you select a vegetable dish from the menu, you can opt to top up $28 to add a can of Fortune Abalone to your dish.

The 4 cordyceps dishes will be made available as ala carte dishes in the month of May.

We also tried two other of Yam’s Signature dishes that aren’t in the set menu. Yam’s Kitchen Curry Fish Head, this is their Signature dish.

Award-winning Steamed Fish Tail with Sour Spicy Sauce, this is really appetite whetting and would be a good opening dish. Those who love your food tangy and a lil spicy, you might like this sauce.
