Brainchild of an ex-interior designer Daniel Wong, Revamp’s ambiance and offerings seeks to provide new perspective on Chinese food and dining experience as a whole.
The quirky decor is apparent the moment you step in, into an intriguing place with gold walls that spots pop icons, figures and quotes. Definitely a place to impress a client or date, I’d say, especially with it’s well-positioned and spaced out tables.
Located centrally at Tanjong Pagar, it’s bound to appeal the working lunch crowd with its selection of Oriental Rice Bowls. From the Chong Qing Rice Bowl ($8) – seared chicken thigh, with greens, and perfectly cooked sous-vide egg, crushed peanuts and cilantro, to the Mapo Tofu with Minced Pork Rice Bowl ($10) and Orange cow Rice Bowl ($12). All served atop a bed of fluffy, Japanese pearl rice 😛
Dinner menu boasts signature sizzling hotplate dishes and Oriental influenced palates – best savoured In groups! Try the Dong Po Pork Belly Hotplate ($10+), or the Revamped Fish ($20+), a whole Seabass crisp-fried to golden perfection! The Seabass was presented in traditional Cantonese-style, with healthy amounts of gingers and scallions that really enhanced the flavors for me.
Like our favorite Sze-Char fare of 铁板豆腐, but this one with a twist – with sour-spicy profiles that whetted our appetites even further!
Overall, a really enjoyable experience to see my favorite local fares take on innovative twists! Oh and for those who dine and *wine*, Prosecco, House Pour spirits and wine are 2 for $10+ daily from 11am – 8pm. One more reason to revisit this place!
